You’ve been scammed – Sowore mocks Peter Obi over honorary citizenship in US

Presidential candidate of the African Action Congress, (AAC), Omoyele Sowore, has slammed his Labour Party counterpart, Peter Obi, for celebrating the honorary citizenship Dallas conferred on him.

It may be recalled that Obi earlier announced that he was conferred with honourary citizenship in the United States.

According to the former governor of Anambra state, it happened during his meeting with the Mayor of Dallas as well as a select group of Texas Judges.

In a post on his verified Twitter page, Obi shared photos from the occasion and wrote; “Today in Dallas Texas United States, I met with the Mayor of Dallas and his team.

“I had the privilege of being conferred with the honorary citizenship of Dallas. I also met with a select group of Texas Judges.”

But, Sowore who reacted to the development via Twitter, said the way he celebrated the conferment further reaffirmed that his ideology was not different from Atiku Abubakar, the People Democratic Party’s presidential candidate.

The Sahara Reporters publisher added that the honourary citizenship did not deserve the euphoria Obi attached to it.

He said Obi had been scammed and that the certificate wasn’t worth the paper it was printed on.

He wrote; “No wonder @PeterObi clearly stated he’s got no ideology different from @atiku and the rest, for him to be celebrating the conferment of “honorary citizenship” of Dallas shows he’s got no clue that the award is not even worth the paper it was printed upon. Someone scammed him!”
