Gathered reports suggest that the married woman was reportedly set ablaze by her husband per her friend who took to social media to mourn her demise.

Ebere had traveled for her mother’s funeral rites, according to her friend, but had returned home without her bag. She stated to her husband that she planned to travel again soon and didn’t think it was necessary to bring her possessions back with her.

This enraged her husband, who allegedly poured fuel on her and set her on fire at their Lagos house. The injuries Ebere sustained couldn’t make her survive.

According to a friend of the deceased, the husband was also burned by the fire he allegedly ignited and is currently receiving treatment in a Lagos hospital.

On Facebook, Ebere’s death has sparked a discussion on domestic violence.

In other news, the governor of Adamawa state, Ahmadu Fintiri, has stated that electing a President from the North East will put a stop to the insurgency raging across the country.

On Thursday, the governor announced this during his speech at the 2021 North East Star Magazine awards.

Governor Fintiri, who was represented by his Chief of Staff, Prof. Maxwell Gidado, predicted that the insurgency in the North East will stop within the first term of any candidate of North Eastern descent taking office.

According to him, former Army Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai tried his hardest to put an end to the insurgency, but his efforts only yielded minor results because the counter-insurgency activities did not have the full support required from the president.

“The Boko Haram insurgency will be wiped out in the first term of a president from the North East. It is a popular saying that he, who wears the shoe, knows where it pinches him. Lt. Gen. Buratai did his best when he was at the helm of affairs.

If he had been given 100 per cent support, I want to believe, he would have snuffed out the terrorists in Sambisa forest” Fintiri said
