Wizkid’s heart is pure, I realised he would be special when we met – Rotimi

American-Nigerian singer and actor, Rotimi has said he’s always known that Afrobeats superstar, Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun aka Wizkid, would be special.

He stated this while recounting the first time he met Wizkid in 2012 and the ‘Holla At Your Boy’ hit maker displayed humility.

Rotimi said he had just landed at the airport and Wizkid quickly approached him to carry his bag out of respect.

According to the Power star, Wizkid was known but not very famous at the time but he saw that his heart was very pure.

The singer said they bonded and became close friends after that meeting. He said that at that moment he realised that Wizzy would be a special artiste because anywhere they performed there was something explosive about it.

He noted that with each time Wizzy went to a new event it just kept getting bigger.

Rotimi said they projected that big things would happen in the Afrobeats scene in the next five to 10 years years in the future and they were proved right. He also noted that they are still cool friends till today.

”That’s my guy,” he said.
