Multiple award-winning Nigerian singer and songwriter, Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, well known as Wizkid has reached another milestone in his music career after beating the Grammy award-winning Beninese singer, Angelique Kidjo on the Billboard chart.

The legendary Angelique Kidjo is noted for her diverse musical influences and creative music videos. Recall, in 2007, Time magazine called her “Africa’s premier diva”. Angelique has sung during the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games Opening Ceremony on July 23rd, 2021.

She was also included in the list of the 100 most influential people in the world by Time magazine in September 2021. She has also won severally from the most prestigious award scheme in the world, the Grammy Awards.

On the other hand, Wizkid who started his music career at the age of 11 has also been the recipient of numerous international music nominations and awards. He has been able to release a collaborative album with the Glorious Five, a group he and a couple of his church friends formed. Wizkid signed a record deal with Empire Mates Entertainment in 2009.

Well, the Nigerian singer has beaten the Beninese singer’s 29 years old record on the Billboard chart. According to the fan who shared this information on Twitter, Wizkid’s “Made In Lagos” album beat Angelique Kidjo’s “Logozo” album which has been her longest-charting album.

The fan wrote; Wizkid beat African Legend Angelique Kidjo’s 29 years old Record on the Billboard Chart. Her 1992 Album ‘Logozo’ Which is her Longest Charting Album (47 WKS) on the World Billboard Chart has been beaten by Wizkid’s Madeinlagos who has spend a Total of (48 WKS) so far
