The Lagos State Spokesperson of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Joe Igbokwe, has opened up on the reason his house in Anambra State was set ablaze.

Recall that Igbokwe’s house in Nnewi, Anambra State subjected to fire by some unknown gunmen who stormed the place.

According to him, he was targeted for criticizing the violence and bloodshed the people of the South East had seen that irked the perpetrators of violence to pay him back with the treatment..

In an interview with Channels Tv he said: “On why my house was torched, I have been an advocate of dialogue, it’s not everything one achieve through violence.

“That’s why they attacked my house, to gag me; though, nobody died just material things were destroyed.

“And I said, if that is going to be the sacrifice I’m going to pay for things to be okay, then let it be.”

Meanwhile, Joe Igbokwe, recently slammed the spokesman of the Northern Elders Forum, NEF, Hakeem Baba-Ahmed for opining that Nigeria would not fall if another Northerner is elected to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari.

Recall the spokesman of the Northern Elders Forum (NEF), Hakeem Baba-Ahmed had posited that the Northerns are on a mission to lead Nigeria as they do not want to play second fiddle to any tribe in Nigeria.

However, the comment did not sit well with Igbokwe, has hit back at Hakeem Baba-Ahmed and has revealed that the nation would fall if people stay aloof and allow another Northerner to be elected as President.

Taking to his Facebook page, he wrote: “Heaven won’t fall if another Northerner is elected president – Hakeem Baba-Ahmad. Me- Hear me well, heaven will falloooo.”
