RonReaco Lee is an actor known for his roles as Tyreke Scott on the ABC/The WB sitcom Sister, Sister, and Jamal Woodson on the BET romantic comedy Let’s Stay Together. He also gained further prominence as Reggie Vaughn in the LeBron James-executive produced Starz series Survivor’s Remorse.

Including the aforesaid shows, Lee has also appeared in 1989’s Glory and in dozens of films and television series.

His mother named him after the then-popular rum called Ronrico. She, though, wanted to modify the moniker a bit and hence capitalized the second “R.”

RonReaco grew up in the suburbs east of Atlanta.

In fact, Lee, who is of African-American ethnicity, got his start as an actor growing up in Stone Mountain. His acting career began in the late ’80s when he at 9 with his parents moved to Stone Mountain, Atlanta from Illinois.

After relocating, he took acting classes at Alliance Theatre.

Even as a child, Lee states he was an avid student of performing arts. He once disclosed he actually grew up doing plays.

He says he did a lot acting at the Alliance Theatre in Atlanta. Lee got used to cameras with TBS as part of a one-minute kids’ broadcast show called Kid’s Beat. He was then 6 and still in Illinois.

His early acting credits include The Return of Swamp Thing as Omar starring alongside Heather Locklear and as a mute drummer boy in Glory.

In the latter, Lee, then 11, rubbed shoulders with legendary actors Morgan Freeman and Denzel Washington.

RonReaco Lee Briefly Took A Break From Acting  

Although a child actor, RonReaco would walk away from acting a couple of times during his teenage years.

In junior year, Lee quit acting, graduated from Stone Mountain High School in 1994. He then studied early school education at Georgia State.

His agent, however, would tempt him back with a role in the film How I Spent My Summer Vacation. Lee, subsequently, moved to Los Angeles and pursued acting full time.

Lee says when he first moved to California he accepted any job because he needed to pay rent. After some time, he nabbed a regular role on the WB’s Sister, Sister as Tyreke Scott for two seasons. It was his first time doing comedy.

Throughout the 2000s, the Illinois-born actor worked small roles in TV and film ranging from ER to The Shield to Tyler Perry’s Madea Goes to Jail.

In the beginning, the shows and projects where Lee was the lead star include Worst Week, In the Motherhood, and Let’s Stay Together.

When he’s not on set, Lee is a husband and a father of two children.

The Glory star is married to Sheana Freeman, the owner of an online fashion store, The Goldbar.

Lee and his wife were both born in the same little town in Illinois but parted ways as they grew older. The former child actor once revealed he was even at “her first or second birthday.”

They lost contact once Lee’s family moved to Atlanta, but ran into each other at the Turkey Tourney when RonReaco was in his mid-teens.

After that, they again wouldn’t see each other until the year 2005. Their third meeting happened when Lee was visiting another friend of his in Chicago. He was in a restaurant crossing to the bar when somebody tapped him on the shoulder and it was Sheana.

They initially started dating long-distance. Ron would commute back and forth to see her and he eventually talked her into moving to LA.

RonReaco Lee Proposed To His Wife With His Family Ring 

RonReaco proposed to Freeman with his grandmother’s ring during Thanksgiving 2008 in their hometown.

“At dinner in the summer of 2008 she told me she didn’t want to be a woman who gave an ultimatum but wouldn’t date me forever,”

Lee quoted his wife, Sheana.  The Survivor’s Remorse actor added,

I love to take her out on dates and never want it to get stale. We both know if we keep God first in our marriage, we’ll be alright.

Lee and Sheana tied the knot on 13th June 2010.

Lee Has Two Children With His Wife, Sheana Freeman 

With Sheana, RonReaco Lee has two sons. The pair welcomed their first child Bryson Lee on November 9, 2013. Two years later, on 8th September 2015, the Lee couple became parents for the second time after giving birth to another son, Jaxson Lee.

In 2021, the Illinois-born couple completed 10 years as husband and wife.

Marking the milestone, the Guess Who star shared a photo from their wedding on his Instagram. Alongside the picture, he subsequently wrote,

Together, in April 2018, Sheana & her actor husband have also participated in the Married for Life Walk, an initiative striving to help couples of different religious denominations, ethnicity, and backgrounds to build strong marriage relationships.
