Reno Omokri, a former presidential spokesman, has responded to President Muhammadu Buhari’s fresh borrowing request to the Senate.

The President contacted the Nigerian Senate today, seeking clearance for $4 billion and €710 million in external loans, according to reports.

The planned loan, he said, will be financed by sovereign loans from the World Bank, the French Development Agency, the EXIM Bank, and the International Fund for Agricultural Development, and will allow the Federal Government to fund important infrastructure projects in several sectors.

Reno Omokri reacted to this by saying that it comes at a time when the Naira is trading at N550 to the dollar.

The former presidential adviser, who also inquired about Buhari’s usage of the loans, responded that they are used to finance “useless stuff.”

In other news, Nigerian political activist, Lawyer and author, Reno Omokri has advised Nigerians to use sensational music superstars, Wizkid, Davido and Burna Boy as a marketing tool for Nigeria.

Reno Omokri asserted that Nigeria made a huge mistake by not using legendary singer, Fela to market the country when he was alive just as Jamaica did with their icon, Bob Marley as they used him to sell the country to the rest of the world.

The former presidential aide went further to point to the fact that the United Kingdom is using Nigerian-born actor, John Boyega to market themselves to the world, as he shared a giant photo of Boyega at Heathrow airport, London.

Reno Omokri wrote on social micro-blogging platform, Twitter;

“A big national mistake we made was not using Fela to market Nigeria the way Jamaica used Bob Marley to market their country. Fela was our greatest ever artiste. Sadly, he is gone. Now, we have Wizkid, Davido and Burna. Let us not repeat bad history. Let’s use them!”
