Three policemen killed as unknown gunmen attack Apostle Suleman

Gunmen have attacked the convoy of General Overseer, Omega Fire Ministries, Apostle Johnson Suleman along the Benin-Auchi Road, Edo State.

According to The Punch, the assailants killed seven persons including three police officers.

The attack occurred on Thursday after Suleman returned from a foreign trip and was heading to an undisclosed destination in Edo.

The clergyman’s lawyer, Samuel Amune, confirmed the attack and noted that Suleman just returned from a programme in Tanzania.

He said that the OFM founder he escaped death by a whisker.

“He was returning from a journey and he had almost gotten on the shores of Auchi when some assassins attacked him. Three of his police orderlies, among others died. He travelled before and just finished a programme in Tanzania day before yesterday.

“He was returning to Auchi when the gunmen attacked him along Sabingida down to Warake area, and Auchi shares direct boundary with Warake. So, he had passed Warake and was entering the boundaries of Auchi when the attack happened,” he said.

In other news, three officers of the Nigeria Police Force were abducted by armed men in Ogun State weeks ago.

The incident reportedly happened in broad daylight on Thursday, September 22, 2022.

It was gathered that the gunmen abducted the policemen around Wasinmi, in Ewekoro Local Government Area of the State.

The kidnapped officers were said to have been deployed from Zone 2, Onikan in Lagos State to Ogun State, for an investigation.

It was also learnt that the security personnel were duly booked at the police division in Wasinmi before they left for their place of primary assignment.

A police source disclosed that Inspector Oladipo Olayemi led the tea of three that were kidnapped on the road by their abductors, who allegedly accosted them at about 2:30 pm on Thursday.

The Ogun State Police PPPRO, Abimbola Oyeyemi, confirmed the incident, saying; “People were kidnapped, but only one policeman is involved.

“We are on the trail of the kidnappers. Do you think we are going to keep quiet? We will get them and rescue the victims unhurt”.
