Top Nigerian Afrobeats act, Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, professionally called Wizkid has shared an unfortunate news about the demise of a close associate.

The Starboy Entertainment headline artiste has taken to his official social media page to share the sad news of the death of popular guitarist Joey Bass.

On Tuesday, August 9, 2022 , Wizkid took to his verified Instagram page (Insta-story) to share the heartbreaking news to fans and music lovers. The singer in a post appreciated Joey Bass for his contribution to his music.

Wizkid in a short text described Joey Bass as someone who had shared his light with him. Joey Bass took center stage with Wizkid during his performance and concert at the 02 Arena as a guitarist. “RIP Joey thank u for sharing your light with me”, he posted. Screenshot below.

The Starboy Entertainment headline act grabbed his first gold certification in the US with “Come Closer” featuring Canadian heavyweight rapper Drake, followed by ‘Essence’ with Tems (a song that has now gone platinum).

“Brown Skin Girl” happens to be a single off the ‘Lion King: The Gift album‘ which was produced by highly rated American songstress, Beyonce. The song has officially sold over 500,000 units in the United States making it eligible for Gold certification.
