Toheeb Akanji, a 32-year-old fridge, and air condition technician has reportedly been arrested by the  Ogun state police command for allegedly stabbing to death a 42 years old Damilare Babatunde Oladipupo, a  member of one of the transport unions in Ogun state.

The culprit was apprehended when one Oluomo called Agbado divisional headquarters at approximately 12:30 a.m. to report that one Oladipupo Babatunde, aka no story, had been stabbed to death by an unknown person at the Blue Roof Hotel in Adiyan Gasline to celebrate with the hotel owner.

CSP Kehinde Kuranga, DPO Agbado division, promptly gathered his troops and proceeded to the location after receiving the distress call. When they arrived, they discovered the deceased had been lured out of the hotel and stabbed multiple times in the chest, hand, and face. It was also determined that he fought with his attacker, prompting him to seize the suspect’s cardigan as well as the knife he used to stab him.

The victim was pronounced dead by the doctors after he was immediately rushed to the hospital for medical attention after he was stabbed by the suspect.

DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, the command’s public relations officer, confirmed the occurrence, saying that the commissioner of police, CP Lanre Bankole, was immediately informed and directed that the suspect be hunted down and brought to justice within 24 hours.

During questioning, the suspect admitted to killing the victim but blamed it on the devil’s handiwork. He claimed he went to the hotel to find out who had beaten and injured one of his boys, but when he arrived, the deceased approached him and began fighting with him. He then took out the knife he had taken with him and stabbed him. ” Abimbola explained.

Meanwhile, CP Lanre Bankole, the commissioner of police, has ordered that the suspect be immediately transferred to the state criminal investigation and intelligence department’s homicide branch for further inquiry and prosecution.
