Reno Omokri, a former advisor to the president, criticized the prison guards for assaulting Iniubong Umoren’s killer, Uduak Akpan, after he tried to get away.
Uduak Akpan, who was given a death by hanging sentence for raping and killing a 24-year-old job seeker in Akwa Ibom, executed a strange act after realizing his penalty had been declared.
According to reports, he made an effort to flee the prison but was apprehended by the guards.

Online users shared a video of Uduak Akpan attacking the warders. The warders eventually repeatedly threw him on his back inside the Black Maria.
Reno Omokri was worried that the commended murder was beaten while he was in handcuffs. He expressed concern in the caption attached to the video.
He wrote:
“Uduak-Abasi Akpan resists being taken to prison after he was sentenced to death over Iniubong Umoren’s murder.
But did they have to beat him? He is in handcuffs. How far can he go? What damage can he do?”
