Qatar: Al Qaeda urges Muslims to shun FIFA World Cup, while IDF head warns Iran could attack games

Qatar is in a bind over the FIFA World Cup. Numerous news stories keep showcasing Qatar’s Islamic supremacist bigotry and potential danger to infidel attendees such as women and gays, who may choose not conform to the nation’s Sharia norms of dress and behavior, and could face jail. Then there’s the disturbing requirement for attendees to download spyware onto their mobile phones. Add to all that the lawsuit by five Australian women who were stripped and humiliated at gunpoint in an airport search. Kosher foods and Jewish prayers are also banned at the games. No beer or other alcohol is allowed, either.

It’s starting to backfire on Qatar, a country that should never been chosen to host the games in the first place, as these games generally feature infidel frolicking and fun.

In normative Islam, there’s no fun. Now, Al Qaeda has issued a warning to Muslims to boycott the event, stopping short of outright threats. As Qatar bullies infidels in an effort to maintain its Islamic character throughout the games, it is failing to satisfy those Muslims who think that the country should not be hosting the games in the first place, but for a reason completely opposite from that of infidels, who expect Qatar to be accommodating to all visitors, since no one forced the country to bid for the international games.

It’s getting sticky for Qatar: it isn’t Muslim enough for Al Qaeda and the like, but is at the same time too bigoted for infidels.

World Cup organisers, in response to criticism over Qatar’s human rights record including LGBT rights as well as social restrictions, have said that everyone, no matter their sexual orientation or background, is welcome during the event.

Really? Welcome indeed, as long as gays, women, Jews and anyone wanting a beer conform to Sharia. That is not welcoming. The games have become what amounts to a large dhimmi training session for attendees.

Meanwhile, the head of Israeli Defense Forces Intelligence has now warned that Iran could attack the World Cup in Qatar.

“Al Qaeda urges Muslims to shun World Cup, stops short of threats,” Reuters, November 19, 2022:

CAIRO, Nov 19 (Reuters) – Al Qaeda’s regional branch urged Muslims around the world to shun the soccer World Cup in Qatar, though it stopped short of threatening attacks or promoting violence in connection with the event, according to a statement reported by a monitoring group.

Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula, the militant group’s Yemen-based branch, criticised Qatar for “bringing immoral people, homosexuals, sowers of corruption and atheism into the Arabian Peninsula” and said the event served to divert attention from the “occupation of Muslim countries and their oppression”.

“We warn our Muslim brothers from following this event or attending it,” said the statement, reported by the SITE Intelligence group on Saturday, a day before the tournament opens in a predominantly Muslim country for the first time.
