On Monday, April 5, the palace officials declared the death of Ogiame Ikenwoli, the Olu of Warri in Delta State.

He passed in December 2020 after battling with the coronavirus for a week after his fifth coronation anniversary. At first, the palace said he was indisposed after slamming reports of his death. Ogiame Ikenwoli is the 20th Olu of Warri.

Announcing the demise of the monarch, Johnson Amatserunreleghe disclosed that the town will being a period of mourning and no celebrations will hold in the town in the space of three months.

Revealing the new designate of Olu of Warri, the Utieyinoritsetsola Emiko was named the new Olu of Warri. He was born on April 2, 1984, His father is called Godwin Toritseju Emiko, the late Ogiame Atuwatse II, and mother, Gladys Durorike Emiko in Warri.

Aside holding a bachelor of arts degree in international studies and political science, he also holds a master’s degree in management.

The Olu of Warri-designate is survived by a wife, Ivie Okunbo, daughter of billionaire businessman, Captain Hosa Okunbo.
