Nigerian officials took the phones given to our athletes at Tokyo Olympics – Ex-AFN Technical Director, Sunday Adeleye

The former Technical Director of Athletics Federation of Nigeria, (AFN) Sunday Adeleye has alleged that Nigerian officials have taken the smartphones provided for Nigerian athletes at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics in Japan.

He stated this during an interview on Thursday, July 29, 2021, saying that the Samsung phones were handed over to the athletes by organisers of the Olympics.

According to the sports administrator who was sacked as the Technical Director in November 2020 by Sports Minister, Sunday Dare, the retrieval happened at the quarters of the Nigerian representatives in the Games Village, Tokyo.

Adeleye was quoted as saying; “Shameless Nigerian officials at the Games Village in Tokyo have taken the Samsung phones given to athletes by organisers of the Olympics”
