Former Minister of Women Affairs, Hajia Inna Ciroma has averred that Nigeria would transform if it gets bold and truthful leaders like Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State.
According to Hajia Ciroma, Ortom has exhibited bravery in the face of challenges that has seen him made many enemies due to his truthful nature.
Ciroma made the revelation when she received Governor Ortom and his entourage at her home to pay a condolence visit over the death of her husband.
She said, “if we have Governors like you, maybe two or three, I am sure this country will overcome all its challenges. So I am appealing to leaders like you to join hands with you to rescue our country.
“At the moment, we are at a crossroads and nobody can deny that fact. But it only needs fearless and people that think for the future of this country.
“So, Your Excellency, you are doing wonderfully well and we are all praying for you and we hope you will keep doing what you are doing. Nobody can intimidate you and nobody should intimidate you,”
Meanwhile, The Coalition of South East Youth Leaders, COSEYL, has cautioned the Federal Government against any attack on Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State.
According to the group, any form of abuse or attack on Ortom would be directed to the Federal Government as they will hold them accountable.
In a statement issued by the President of the group, Goodluck Ibem in Owerri, Imo State, they called for the protection of the life of the governor.
