The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control has cautioned Nigerians over the circulation of fake COVID-19 vaccines in Nigeria.

This cautioned was given by the Director-General of NAFDAC, Prof Mojisola Adeyeye in a recent statement.

The statement was released by the agency’s Resident Media Consultant, Sayo Akintola asking Nigerians to refrain from purchasing the vaccine online to avoid them from being duped.

The statement partly reads;

“The public must be on the lookout for these spurious and counterfeit vaccines and other regulated products.”

So far, Nigeria has received about 3.92 million doses of the vaccines and the president, vice-president and some other state officials have publicly received the vaccines.

Some other Nigerians have also volunteered to take the vaccine.
