Uduak Akpan, the man who killed Iniubong Umoren, is rumored to have become pretty upset in the courtroom after receiving the death penalty.

A high court in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, sentenced the young man to death by hanging today, August 4, for raping and murdering the 24-year-old job seeker in 2021.

Prior to her NYSC program, Iniubong Umoren, a Second Class (Upper Division) graduate of philosophy from the University of Uyo, departed in search of a job but never came back.

In a tweet, investigative journalist David Hundeyin claimed that when he spoke with the deceased’s sister Ifiok, she revealed that Uduak Akpan resisted handcuffing and attempted to strangle one of the courtroom attorneys after the sentence was read.

The tweet reads:
