The well-established midfielder labeled former Super Eagles captain, Mikel Obi as his football idol and he made this known when he appeared as a speaker on a recent Twitter space event.

In his submission, he said;

“Mikel. Because of him, I was always fighting to get the No.12 jersey at the start of my career. I have massive respect for what he did for Chelsea and the Super Eagles. I always looked up to him a lot.

When he was at Chelsea, I was at Nath Boys (as a youth player) and I have always liked him as a player. The way he plays is amazing. He was so important for Nigerian football.”

Months ago, Wilfred Ndidi called out DSTV for using his photo for an advert without his consent.

He suggested that if nothing is done about it, he will be dragging the company to court stating that they use his face for an advertisement without his consent.

This comes after he spotted a nationwide promotion with his face on it without any pre-agreement with the company.

Registering his displeasure, he took to Twitter to share some photos in a post.
