In other news, sensational Ghanaian gospel musician, Joe Mettle has revealed that he requested to be excluded from the nominations of this year’s Ghana National Gospel Music Awards.

The award-winning gospel singer made this known after he was inquired by Hitz FM’s Frank Kwabena Owusu as to why his name was not included in the 5th edition of the Ghana National Gospel Music Awards.

In a swift response, Joe Mettle intimated that he personally made a request to the organizers of the event to exempt him from this year’s nominations, perhaps for personal reasons.

“Yes sir I requested to be excused from this year’s nominations“, he wrote on his Facebook page.

Many believed that the singer’s decision was inspired by the numerous sentiments expressed by Ghanaians that he did not deserve some awards and nominations he got in the previous years on some well-known platforms.

A school of thoughts are also of the view that the singer’s sudden and unexpected decision to be exempted from the Ghana National Gospel Music Awards might be extended to other award schemes for the same reason.
