Madonna sent me a DM twice – Fireboy DML speaks

Nigerian Afrobeats artiste, Adedamola Adefolahan, popularly known as Fireboy DML has revealed that he met American pop star, Madonna after she sent him a DM.

The YBNL artiste said that she sent him a DM on two different occasions, one in 2019 and the second time in 2022.

He said that the message he received from her in 2019 was just about her telling him that she is a fan who loves his music.

However, the second message in 2022 was when she informed the Vibration crooner that she wanted them to collaborate on a project.

Speaking with TMZ while leaving an event in USA, Fireboy said that his collaboration with her became possible because she requested a feature.

The Pop icon featured the Nigerian singer on the remix of Frozen.

Fireboy DML said that they are friends and it was an amazing thing to be a part of classic and it was basically helping to push Afrobeats to the world.

He said he is honoured to have worked with her because she is a classic woman and a superstar.

Also, in an interview with media personality Adesope Olajide, Fireboy DML recounted how she used one of the songs off his first album “Laughter, Tears & Goosebumps” as background music for a video she uploaded.

Meawhile, Divine Ikubor, the artiste better known as Rema met American pop music icon, Madonna for the first time and she was filled with praises for him.

The meeting happened backstage after his electrifying performance at the Raves and Roses concert in New York, USA.

In a video which is circulating on social media, the two musicians could be seen greeting each other warmly.

They firstly shared a deep hug after which Madonna asked if the star had fun, and he answered in the affirmative.

She said; “I’m very proud of you and I love you. You’re a great performer.”

On his part, Rema also disclosed how much he admires the pop Queen, stating that she was a great inspiration to him.
