The Lagos State Government has announced that all public and private schools with the exception of Tertiary schools will still remain closed indefinitely.

This is has a result of the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic that has hit Nigeria especially in the state.

The number of cases being recorded in Nigerian has increased and this has made it necessary for such guidelines to be put in place.

This development was revealed in a recent statement issued by the Head of Public Affairs, Lagos State Ministry of Education, Mr. Kayode Abayomi.

Schools in Lagos were supposed to reopen today, January 4, however, this isn’t possible due to this new development.

The statement further revealed that a new date will be communicated in due course as parents and students were also urged to strictly adhere to guidelines issued by the government to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
