Sheikh Ahmad Gumi, a well-known Muslim cleric, has criticized Nigeria’s poor justice system and claimed that there is no such thing as justice in Nigeria.
Speaking on Monday, August 8, during a symposium on peacebuilding held in Maiduguri as part of programs to rehabilitate former Boko Haram militants into society, Gumi remarked;
“Whoever has any interest in our country, we have made available for him soldiers he can conscript.
“So why do we leave our children uneducated? Why is education not for everybody? Why do we leave our population poor?
“Some Nigerians are riding private jets while some Nigerians don’t know where to put their children in school. There is social injustice. If you go to the court system, justice is not there. The fabric of power is broken down. So, the children are there to be used by anybody.”
In other news, Nigerian Omenuwoma Josiah turned down the position of Special Assistant on Youth Mobilization for Delta State Governor Ifeanyi Okowa.
Josiah revealed this in a statement made available to the media, stating that his choice gave him the chance to publicly support Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate (LP).
The Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) vice presidential and presidential candidates are Okowa and Atiku Abubakar, respectively.

Although he acknowledged that he had already pledged his allegiance to the “ObiDient” movement, the man appreciated the Governor for considering him for the position.
