IGP, Dampare Places GHC50,000 On Armed Robbers Who Killed Two Policemen At Zuarungu

Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, the Inspector General of the Ghana Police Service has placed a GHc50,000 bounty on the two suspected armed robbers who killed two police officers at Zuarungu in the Upper East Region.

It would be vividly recalled that two police officers, Constable Emmanuel Akowuah and Constable Mohammed Sule who were on a night patrol in the vicinity were shot dead by the suspected armed robbers.

According to reports filed by the police, the Zuarungu District Command received a distress call reporting an ongoing robbery at Zuarungu Market on the 15th of November, 2021, at about 2020 hours.

While men were being organized to respond to the robbery, another distress call came through saying two (2) police officers had been shot dead.

A team of police officers led by the Bolgatanga Divisional Commander C/Supt/Dela Dzansi and the Regional Crime Officer Supt/Reuben Dugah arrived at the crime scene and discovered a burnt Service Motorbike No. GP 2311 parked outside a provision shop.

The IGP earlier stormed the crime scene at the Upper East region to aid in the assessment of the development in the case and also to commiserate with the bereaved family.

Well the IGP also announced that an amount of GHc50,000 has been placed on the armed robbers who killed the officers, hence the public should aid the police with information about them.
