Many people were alarmed when the anti-graft agency’s chairman grew dizzy while giving a speech at an event in the presidential house.

Bawa remarked on Channels TV this evening that his physicians said his disorientation was caused by dehydration.

“While giving my goodwill message during the programme organised by the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC), there was a sort of dizziness on me and I had to excuse myself from the stage.

And of course I went straight to the hospital where the doctors confirmed to me that everything about me is okay except for the fact that I’m a bit dehydrated and need to take a lot of water.

Straight away from the hospital, I went back to the office and now I’m back at home.”he said

Bawa also reacted to the Central Bank of Nigeria’s (CBN) decision to suspend selling foreign exchange (FX) to the country’s bureau de change (BDC) operators. He stated something while speaking.

“It is a laudable policy that we are working with the central bank with open arms, nobody stops the operations of BDC in this country,” he said.

The policy is about stopping the giving of cash to BDC, and that monies that hitherto are being given to the BDC are now going to be given to financial institutions for them to distribute to those Nigerians that are in need of them.”
