The president of Ghana, President Nana Dankwah Akufo Addo has asked for forgiveness from Ghanaians especially the people of Cape Coast for promising them saying he can’t fulfill that promise.

It could be recalled that the president during the build-up to the 2020 elections made it known that he will be building a harbor at Cape Coast.

It was even captured in their manifesto and Ghanaians were shocked when he claimed that neither he nor his party promised to build a Harbour in Cape Coast.

After making that comment, he has gone back to retract his words in a recent interview he had on Peace FM saying he erred.

In his submission, he said;

“Let me confess, I made a mistake on the Cape Coast [Harbour], even with the mistake we have to have a rethink. We cannot have a Harbour at Takoradi and Elmina and have another one at Cape Coast. But I have to apologise to the people of Cape Coast. Presidents are humans and they can make mistakes.”
