I Have Received Many Death Threats Ever Since I Declared My Political Stance

The President of the Ghana Music Rights Organization(GHAMRO), Rex Omar has disclosed that he has received a lot of death threats after he declared his stance as a member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

In an exclusive interview on the ‘Legends’ show hosted by Agyemang Prempeh, the ‘Abiba’ hitmaker disclosed he often receives threat and hate comments from people after he declared his stance on politics.

“I’ve got a lot of hate but I don’t care. A lot of threats but I don’t care. It’s a lot but I think that I’m not the only person or last to receive such treatment. I’ve got a lot of life-threatening messages and calls; saying, we will come for you”.

Rex Omar is a legendary musician in Ghana and also the president of the Ghana music industry. He has been seen severally using his Facebook page to chastize the sitting president and his government on countless occasions. According to him, people have been threatening his life due to his political talks.

Rex Omar further added that as a performer and a musician, he has been sidelined several times due to his political affiliation.

“I can tell you that even as a musician, there was a particular show that I had to perform at. After preparing, an NPP minister calls to say if I’m the one to perform then the show should be canceled”. Rex added.
