I came into the music industry from UK prison – Burna Boy spills

Nigerian Dancehall star, Damini ‘Burna Boy’ Ogulu has spoken on some of the risks he took and sacrifices he made before he hit the limelight.

He took to his Twitter page on Wednesday to share some sentimental posts while trading words with Wizkid FC.

Burna said he doesn’t care about being the biggest Nigerian artiste, however, he is just happy that he is doing what he loves, which is music.

According to the Tonight singer, he did not know he would live this long and if people knew half of the things he has done make money they would be happier for him.

Burna Boy disclosed that he came straight into the Nigerian entertainment scene from Chelmsford prison in the UK.

He tweeted; ”Nigeria real doesn’t know me. I Don’t care to be the BIGGEST Nigerian artist, I’m just happy I can do what I love and Take care of my people from it. If you knew just Half the shit I used to do for money risking my freedom Daily you would be Way Happier for me.

I came into the Music industry straight from CHELMSFORD HMP. I had no idea I would even live this long. So when people talk about me now it’s all just funny. Of course I would perform with my injured Leg or even NO Legs or no arms.”

On a lighter note, the Grammy winner recently made career history by rising to the top spot on U.S. Billboard chart.

The singer’s hit song, Last Last peaked for the first time on U.S. Afrobeats Billboard charts on July 16, 2022.

Last Last is a single off Burna Boy’s sixth studio album, Love, Damini, which was released on his birthday, 2nd of July.

Billboard broke the news of the African Giant’s feat its site, as it noted that the single is the fifth leader on the newly created Afrobeats chart.

Burna Boy’s “Last Last” advanced from No. 3 to No. 1 on Tuesday, beating Tems, Wizkid and Fireboy DML respectively.
