How I ended up marrying my abroad-based sister’s suitor after standing in for her – Woman recounts

A Nigerian woman has shared the story of how she married the fiancé of her sister who is based abroad.

She revealed that two years ago, her sister asked her to stand in as a bride for her during the introduction and wedding ceremony.

However, that singular act endeared her to the man and his family and he decided to take her as his wife instead.

In a video-story posted online, the lady revealed that her sibling could not travel down to Nigeria for the edding due to COVID-19 lockdown, so she stood in for her.

When the man’s family visited hers for the introductory rites, she was called out as the bride though, she was just being a proxy, her in-laws started calling her ‘our wife’.

When she reached her sister’s suitor, he stood up to embrace her and also gave her a kiss, that was how they officially became a couple.

In other news, a man canceled his wedding over his fiancée’s comment on social media where she revealed that she could cheat for money.

The woman commented ‘Yes’ when a Facebook user asked women if they would cheat on her husband for N1 million and someone who knew the couple saw it online.

The person screengrabbed her comment and sent it to her fiance who immediately ended their relationship and called off the wedding which was supposed to hold December 2022.

A Twitter user known as Josephine @JojoNitq shared the story on the microblogging platform.

The tweet reads; ”A man cancelled his wedding that was supposed to take place in December 2022 ….because the bride to be commented yes on Facebook that she can cheat on the husband for 1Million naira …someone that knows her screen shot it and showed the guy….was the man’s action right?”

In reaction, @ThatUrhoboGirl wrote; That person that took ss of the comments is wicked but as she knew she was going to settle down she should’ve been very careful in everything

@DanielRegha; Saying that u can cheat on ur partner is an ultimate Red flag; There are things u don’t say even if it’s a joke. The man was right to call off the engagement cos the lady just proved she can’t be trusted. I hope she learns from this, & acts more sensibly in her next relationship.
