Yet he is ignoring the prohibition on music.

“It was narrated from Abu Malik Ash’ari that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: ‘People among my nation will drink wine, calling it by another name, and musical instruments will be played for them and singing girls (will sing for them). Allah will cause the earth to swallow them up, and will turn them into monkeys and pigs.’” (Sunan Ibn Majah 4020)
“Narrated Aisha: Abu Bakr came to my house while two small Ansari girls were singing beside me the stories of the Ansar concerning the Day of Buath. And they were not singers. Abu Bakr said protestingly, ‘Musical instruments of Satan in the house of Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) !’ It happened on the `Id day and Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) said, ‘O Abu Bakr! There is an `Id for every nation and this is our `Id.’” (Sahih al-Bukhari 952)

Rabat – French-Congolese rapper and singer Maitre Gims has infuriated many of his fans after he released a video calling on them to stop sending him new year and birthday wishes.
In a video Gims posted on his social media, the iconic singer said birthday and new year wishes are not part of Muslims’ beliefs.
“I never responded to this, but you keep sending me through January and February. Muslims stop it,” he said in reaction to wishes he had received from fans.
Addressing his Muslim fans, he said: “Brothers, we don’t celebrate that. It’s not part of our belief.”
“Did the [Prophet’s companions] celebrate the New Year? No!,” Maitre Gims added.
The singer also indicated that he does not like it when he receives wishes during his birthday.
“It’s one more step towards death,” he argued….
“Maitre Gims does not accept it when someone reminds him that music is not in line with Islamic values,” one commenter on Twitter said sarcastically….
