If only you would celebrate diversity a little harder, incidents of this kind wouldn’t happen.

“North: He calls the police station, talks about Daesh and says he will ‘blow everything up,’” translated from “Nord : Il appelle le commissariat, évoque Daech et affirme qu’il va «tout faire sauter»,” Actu17, December 6, 2021 (thanks to Medforth):

A 31-year-old man was arrested at his home in Somain, near Douai (North), on the night of Thursday to Friday. He is accused of calling the city police station several times, citing the Islamic State (IS) group and saying he was going to “blow up everything.”

The Somain police officers received several anonymous and threatening calls at the end of last week. At the end of the line, a man notably mentioned Daesh and Allah. “He said he was going to blow everything up and he was waiting for the police with weapons,” said a source familiar with the investigation.

Law enforcement officials identified a suspect and proceeded to his home around midnight Thursday to Friday night, taking maximum precautions. The 31-year-old fled through a window upon seeing the officials, but was quickly arrested. Already known to the police, he was taken into police custody.

The suspect was referred the next day and remanded in custody pending trial, which was to be held on Monday at the Douai Criminal Court, for immediate appearance.
