This was revealed by the NSCDC Commandant in the State, Makinde Iskil Ayinla, in a statement signed by the military’s spokesman in Ilorin, Babawale Zaid Afolabi, and made accessible to journalists on Monday.

The state’s relative silence, according to the Commander, is due to the combined efforts of all security agencies and the state government’s unwavering support.

He did, however, reaffirm that the agency will leave no stone unturned in order to ensure peace and security before, during, and after the holiday season.

In the own words of  Babawale:

“The State Commandant, Iskilu Ayinla Makinde, has directed the deployment of 1500 officers and men, drawn from the intelligence and investigations department, anti-vandal, counter terrorism, operation harmony and armed squad units who will be joined by regular officers from all the divisional offices and outposts across the 16 local government areas of the state,”

“The patrol teams of operation harmony, armed squad and counter terrorism units will be readily available to respond promptly to distress calls from members of the public and they could be reached on the following phone numbers; 09073371297,08062254163”
