The Ningo-Prampram MP together with other like-minded MPs is pushing for the activities of lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, etc to be criminalized in Ghana.

In a recent interview with a BBC reporter identified as Claire McDonald, host of BBC’s Newsday program on Ghana’s anti-LGBTQI+ bill made reference to a part of the Bible which she claims promotes the rights of homosexuals.

The BBC journalist said that the Bible preaches that God created mankind in his image thus people of different sexual and gender orientations needed to be considered. She also cited the Pope as an example that he welcomed the LGBTQI community and showed them, love.

However, in a sharp rebuttal, Sam George replied stating that the Bible does not condone activities of LGBTQ. According to him, Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed because they practised homosexuality. He also slammed the reporter not to focus her argument on a part of the Bible that she interprets to be making a case for homosexuals.

“My bill is not a religious bill. It’s a bill of values but if you want to go into the Bible, I will grant you that. The Bible says God created Adam and Eve and not Adam and Steve. It says for this reasons,a man will leave his father’s house and cling to his wife.”

“It didn’t say another man so if you want to read the Bible, just don’t read one part of it. Again the same Bible says that God destroy Sodom and Gomorrah because of homosexuality so if you want to quote the Bible, let’s be clear,” he added.
