Oluchi Okoye nicknamed PACA, a young creditor, has been arrested by Denton Police Station officers for binding his debtor, Reuben Alozie, to a stake over an overdue N4.6m debt.
From September 22nd to September 23rd, the suspect bound the victim to a stick with ropes at No. 29, Abeokuta Street, Ebute Metta, Lagos, till he was rescued by the police.
After many attempts to retrieve his money from the victim failed, the suspect took matters into his hands to get his money back.
In the video sighted by Ghgossip, he was seen strapped with ropes to a stick as he pleaded for mercy.
The suspect was apprehended after the victim’s wife, Angela Reuben, filed a police report alleging that her husband had been denied of his freedom by the suspect who was holding him captive.
Following the arrest, CP Hakeem Odumosu, the Commissioner of Police, ordered that the suspect be handed to the Command’s Tactical squad for thorough investigation and prosecution.
CSP Adekunle Ajisebutu, the state police command’s spokeswoman, confirmed the event, saying the state Commissioner of Police has admonished citizens against taking laws into their own hands instead of using legal means to pursue justice.
