Christine’s Father John Wayne Gacy Had A Miserable Childhood

The bad assed killer in the history of America was born into a family of violence. Born on March 17, 1942, in Chicago, Illinois, Gacy endured a ruthless early life at the hands of his own father.

On top of that, Christine’s granddad was an alcoholic and a real-life wild animal. As per her aunt Karen, he used a razor strap to hit them. She said,

“My father, on many occasions, would call John a sissy. And he wasn’t a happy drunk — sometimes he would turn into a mean drunk, so we had to always be real careful.”

Eventually, the daily physical abuse made John think he was incompetent as a son.

Christine Gacy’s Mother and Father Were In A Marital Relationship For Only Five Years

After the most notorious killer graduated from Northwestern Business College, he met his future wife Marlyn Myers while working together at a men’s clothing store in Springfield, Illinois called Roberts Brothers. Nine months after staying in a relationship, in 1964, the couple decided to walk down the aisle. But, their wedding ceremony didn’t take place with dozens of guests as it was quite a low-key type.

Initially, John was leading a peaceful life as he was the manager of one of the KFC branches. Later, the father of two consequently bought three KFC restaurants in Waterloo, Iowa. And it was also the time when he earned his father’s apology.

Along with his then-glowing restaurant business, the married life John had shared with his wife Myers was also going well with raising two kids together. However, a few years after their nuptial, their matrimonial relationship slowly started falling apart.

Despite having a perfect family, Christine’s father was actually hiding his true self. As per her aunt Karen,

“John had to be especially careful because he had a secret — he was attracted to men. He hid this part of himself from his family, and from his father. But John found an outlet for his desires. While working as a mortuary assistant in Las Vegas, he once lay with the body of a dead teenage boy.”

Although John was able to keep it a secret, he couldn’t control his desire and was accused of sexually assaulting two teenage boys in the late 1960s and was sent to jail for the same reason in December 1968. The same day of Gacy’s sentencing, his ex-wife Marlynn also filed for a divorce from her then-husband.

But, Marlyn later told to The New York Times she had problems believing that her late-spouse John was homosexual and he had never been violent with any of us. He was instead a “good father.”

Regardless, their divorce was finalized on Sept 18, 1969, and Marlynn got full custody of their two kids, Christine and Michael Gacy. Henceforth, the serial killer never saw his kids again.

Christine’s Father John Wayne Gacy Started Killing Teen Boys In 1972

As mentioned above, in 1967, John was first found guilty of the allegation of sexually assaulting the 15-year-old Donald Voorhees Jr. After he was granted parole from prison, he soon started a part-time construction business, PDM Contractors.

His business referred to painting, decorating, and maintenance. In the meantime, he started luring men from Chicago’s Greyhound Bus station, Bughouse Square, to his house with the promise of providing jobs in PDM.

Talking about his dreadful criminal history, Christine’s father John first murdered 16-year-old teenage boy Timothy Jack McCoy. In the early hours of the morning, Timothy was waiting for a bus at Chicago’s Greyhound Bus station to return to his father’s home after a Christmas vacation. The serial killer called McCoy near his car and approached him with an offer of a sightseeing tour of Chicago.

He then took the teen boy to his house with the promise that he could stay there for a night and would drive him back to the station the next morning to catch his bus. The following day, according to Gacy, he saw McCoy standing in the doorway of his bedroom with a kitchen knife in his hand.

John thought, Jack, came to attack, so he wrestled him to the floor, then stabbed McCoy in his chest repeatedly. When he went to his kitchen, to his surprise, McCoy was actually making breakfast for him. However, at that moment, he thought to himself death was the ultimate thrill.

While investigating, Cops encountered several pieces of evidence which belonged to the people that were missing. The Chief of Police Joe Kozenczak said to Inside Edition,

“We found other pieces of identification that belonged to other young male individuals and it didn’t take too long to see that there was a pattern here that the identifications belonged to people who were missing throughout the Chicago-metro area,”

Finally, after several investigations, the police discovered 29 dead bodies in the crawl underneath John’s house. During his trial, the serial killer confessed the total number of murder count to be 33.
