He along with his family moved to Mākaha, where he met Louis Kauakahi, Sam Gray, and Jerome Koko. Together with them and his brother Skippy, the five formed a group and named it the Makaha Sons of Ni’ihau. The band included a mix of contemporary and traditional styles.

Furthermore, the group recorded No Kristo and released even more albums including Hoʻoluana, Kahea O Keale, Keala, Makaha Sons of Niʻihau, and Mahalo Ke Akua. Their breakthrough came with the 1984 album Puana Hou Me Ke Aloha. Sadly, Ceslie’s uncle Skippy passed away because of a heart attack at the age of 28; her father stopped creating music.

It wasn’t until 1990 that he released his first solo album Ka ‘Ano’i which went on to win awards for Contemporary Album of the Year and Male Vocalist of the Year. Likewise, in 1993, he released an album named Facing Future which became No.25 in Billboard magazine. The musician was suffering from obesity since his childhood. At one point, he weighed 757 pounds, around 343 kg, on a 6 feet 2 inches height. According to the doctors, Celise-Ann’s dad had endured chronic medical issues, including respiratory and heart problems.

Sadly, after a long battle with obesity, Israel died on June 26, 1997, from respiratory failure. He passed away at the age of 38. And his funeral was held in front of 10,000 onlookers.

Likewise, the police began their search and at around 3:20 pm, they were notified that a similar car was parked on Komalo Street, Waipahu. While looking through the surveillance camera at around 4:00 pm, the officers noticed a woman walking into the four-wheeler and driving off.
