Canada’s spy agency CSIS accused of ‘smuggling’ UK teens including Shamima Begum to the Islamic State

In a bombshell report by the National Post, Canada’s spy agency, the Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS) has been accused of smuggling teen girls into Islamic State (ISIS) territory so that they could join the jihad terror group. Revelations in The Secret History of the Five Eyes by Richard Kerbaj, who served as security beat reporter for the Britain’s Sunday Times, seems like a fantastical tale, beyond belief, yet none of the authorities who were purportedly involved, including Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, are denying the book’s research or even trying to offer any reasoned answer to the questions it has raised. Instead, they are in full evasion mode.

According to the National Post story “Canada’s spy agency accused of ‘nabbing British children and trafficking them’ to Islamic State”:

While police in Britain were searching for three schoolgirls who left their homes in London in 2015, Canadian intelligence and diplomatic officials withheld information about where they were and how they got there. Canada then worked with British authorities to cover up its role….

One of the smuggled teens was the infamous ISIS bride Shamima Begum, who lost her appeal to return home to Britain after the fall of the Islamic State. Begum reportedly “told her friends that she will never name other Brits who joined ISIS – despite claiming she wanted to help fight terrorism.” She also wore an ISIS badge on her school blazer as she tried to recruit classmates for jihad, but after ISIS’s fall she suddenly wanted Britons to believe that she was just “a dumb kid who made one mistake.” Her British citizenship was eventually stripped from her, which was fitting, as she was a hardcore jihadist.

Along with Begum, two other Muslim British teens were also documented in The Secret History of the Five Eyes to have been smuggled into Islamic State territory with Canada’s involvement so that they could join ISIS: Begum’s schoolmates, 15-year-old Amira Abase and Kadiza Sultana, 16. The teens left their homes in the UK, flew to Turkey to join ISIS, and were then met by point man Mohammed Al Rashed, “who claimed to be a spy for Canada.”

Rashed “claimed to have helped 15 people from Western countries travel into IS territory while working with CSIS and being paid by Canada.” He claims he did this in order to “investigate the flow of foreign fighters to the IS battlefields.”

After Rashed helped smuggle the girls (and others) into Islamic State-controlled territory, he was arrested by Turkish police. Four years later, Turkey made a mysterious offer to “help Canada” repatriate Islamic State jihadists held in Syria. A year before that, in 2018, CBC reported on another grotesque gesture by the Trudeau government, which had so little regard for the victims of Islamic State atrocities that it missed a “deadline to resettle ISIS survivors of rape, genocide due to flight restrictions,” and “no new applications would be accepted” under the initiative “that offered asylum to Yazidis and other ISIS victims.”

Shamima Begum’s lawyer Tasnime Akunjee told the National Post: “Canada’s actions facilitated human trafficking of minors….They have effectively been nabbing British children and trafficking them across the Syrian border for delivery to ISIS all in the name of intelligence gathering.”

Why would a government employee traffic teens and others to the Islamic State in Syria, knowing full well the horrific crimes against humanity that they would commit, and that they would be further steeped in the jihad ideology?

To illustrate the danger posed by Islamic State jihadists, in 2018, Iraq justified handing down death sentences to British Islamic State jihadists as a “bid to protect Britain.” According to judge Abdul Sattar Beraqdar, spokesman for the Supreme Judicial Council:

The punishment, as much as it seems strong, will affect the security of your country….I am sure there are hundreds of people in Britain at this moment thinking of committing similar crimes.

Yet Shamima Begum’s lawyer Akunjee went on to present the heinous smuggling activities of Canadian authorities as an “acceptable risk,” while Shamima Begum herself argued that Rashed “organized the entire trip from Turkey to Syria…. I don’t think anyone would have been able to make it to Syria without the help of smugglers.”

So rather than stymie the efforts of Islamic State recruitment, Canada instead decided to aid the Islamic State. According to the National Post, “the book’s details are igniting alarming headlines internationally,” as it should.

The appalling reaction to this stunning coverup from Canada’s leaders has been even further coverup.

Public Safety Minister Marco Mendicino, the Department of Public Safety Canada, and Global Affairs Canada all referred questions about their respective roles to the Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS). CSIS spokesman Brandon Champagne simply replied: “I cannot publicly comment on or confirm or deny the specifics of CSIS investigations, operational interests, methodologies, or activities.”

As for Canada’s Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, he did not confirm or deny “Ottawa’s work with operative Al Rashed smuggling Western children to a dangerous battlefield.” His justification: “Canada’s spy agency must ‘be flexible and be creative’ in the war against terrorists.’” Justin Trudeau’s reasoning compliments Begum’s lawyer’s statement that “the lives of British children, and the risk of their death, is part of the algorithm of acceptable risk that our Western allies have taken.” Note that Akunjee mentions nothing about the victims of the Islamic State.

Justin Trudeau has demonstrated repeatedly that he knows nothing about jihad terror. But he has shown a tendency to sympathize with jihadists over victims in a twisted quest to exalt “multiculturalism” and crush “Islamophobia.” In a July National Post article, the Trudeau government was accused of “funding hate” at a Muslim Association of Canada conference. And in another disturbing article, the publisher and managing editor of Ottawa Life magazine, Dan Donovan, wrote an article entitled: Why Jewish people in Canada should fear the Trudeau government.

Some concerning points about Trudeau’s stunning record on confronting real terrorism:

  • Trudeau threw out a welcome mat to Islamic State jihadists and “pledged taxpayer funds” in 2018 to “de-radicalize” Islamic State jihadists. He foolishly declared that they could become “an extraordinarily powerful voice,” despite the fact that de-radicalization programs have been tried and failed all over the globe. While reasons for this overwhelming failure are still being studied, it is obvious, or at least should be, that for any reform program to work, there must be a strong will on behalf of the participant. Jihadists are fueled by Islamic religious zeal. They are engaged in a religiously sanctioned war against disbelieving Western nations. Yet that zeal and its roots in Islamic texts and teachings aren’t even addressed in deradicalization programs.
  • Leaked documents from the Canadian Security Intelligence Service in 2018 showed “that the intelligence service is far more concerned with Islamic terrorism behind closed doors than the left-wing Trudeau government will admit in public.” But now with the latest revelation about smuggling Islamic State recruits into Syria, CSIS and the Canadian government are not being ingenuous to Canadians about the subject.
  • It emerged in 2017 that dozens of jihadis were walking free in Canada, yet authorities won’t charge them.
  • Trudeau has a reputation of being soft, if not kind, to jihadists. He paid jihadist Omar Khadr $10.5 million for shoddy treatment he suffered in Gitmo, with an apology. Shortly after, he then paid out over $31 million in settlements to Abdullah Almalki, Ahmad El Maati and Muayyed Nureddin, who were deemed to be “falsely accused of links to terror groups, then imprisoned and tortured in Syria in the early 2000s.” Trudeau again issued an apology.
  • Trudeau met privately with Joshua Boyle, a suspicious former Taliban captive who is also now up on 15 criminal charges. He went great lengths to hide the meeting and no one can say why.
  • Trudeau has also accused the Conservative party of “Islamophobia” in 2017 for merely inquiring about the threat to Canadians posed by jihad terror.
  • In 2017, Member of Parliament Omar Alghabra represented Canada at the 44th session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation. Since when is Canada an OIC state? Alghabra is now in Trudeau’s cabinet as Transportation Minister, and justifies Canada’s ArriveCAN App, which is now under investigation by the Privacy Commissioners office.

The Canadian government has evolved into nothing short of creepy — from Trudeau’s admiration for “China’s basic dictatorship” and his vicious attack on freedom-supporting Canadians to his favor shown toward jihadists. As Canada’s democracy unravels, the shocking news about Canada’s role in smuggling jihadists into Islamic State territory is yet another bitter pill for Canadians to swallow. The pressure is rising steadily as citizens are being taxed to their absolute limit.

Days ago, Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland was verbally harassed in Alberta, and now the RCMP is investigating. The media explosion about this was peculiar. Lorne Gunter of the Edmonton Sun acknowledged the wrongness of the harassment, but wrote that it was “important to understand the source of ‘hostility behind the verbal attack on Freeland.’” Gunter did not justify the harassment, but highlighted pressure on Canadians under the Justin Trudeau government.

Recently, Fox News reported that Trudeau told reporters “that politicians need to beware of ‘inciting’ anger among people.” It is Canadians who need to beware of Trudeau’s totalitarian-style crackdowns. Recall the frozen bank accounts of those who gave financial support to the Freedom Convoy (even minuscule amounts), and the big lie that Trudeau told about police asking him to invoke the Emergency Measures Act. Canada was once (not long ago) famous for being quiet and peaceful, but no longer. It is a country of deep divisions and turbulence, yet Trudeau is not about to accept any responsibility. In fact, according to Fox News, he’s blaming “climate change,” “mentally ill” people and economic changes for the alleged “’rise in threats’ to politicians.”

As each shocking revelation about the Trudeau government is made public, nothing is enough to catapult Trudeau and his cabinet out of office, because of his coalition pact with the New Democrat Party which protects him from a no-confidence motion and virtually guarantees passage of important Liberal legislation in the House of Commons until the next election in October 2025. In the meantime, Canadians hold their breath.
