The burial rites of Nollywood veteran Rachel Oniga has been slated for August 26 and 27 in Lagos.

Recall that Nigerians, unfortunately, woke up to the sad news of the demise of actress Rachel Oniga on Friday, July 30. She was mourned by a number of her friends and colleagues in the movie industry.

According to sources, the veteran actress died from a heart complication and was couldn’t win the tough battle with death.

A few weeks before her death, she celebrated her 64th birthday and she was treated to a heart-warming surprise as she woke up to serenading music being played by trumpeters, drummers and was supported by a chanter on her birthday.

In the video, Rachel Oniga shed tears of joy as she enjoyed how her birthday was glorified beyond her expectation, and sharing the video, the legendary deceased icon expressed appreciation to God for how good to her.

She captioned;

Rachel was born on 23 May, 1957 in Ebutte Metta, Lagos State. In 1993, she started acting right after her divorce. Her first movie was titled Onome and her first Yoruba movie was Owo Blow.

The veteran actress has been featured in many popular Nigerian movies like Sango, a movie written by Wale Ogunyemi, directed and produced by Obafemi Lasode and Wale Adenuga’s television series, Super Story.
