Malami said during a radio interview in Kano that all sectors of the economy had suffered major setbacks before Buhari was elected President, and that state governments had also been saved through various bailouts.

The AGF further stated that the Buhari administration implemented programs such as N-power and COVID-19 initiatives, which gave many Nigerians with job opportunities.

He said;

“President did this in less than one year; he rescued our economy from collapse. This is very rare as not all leaders can do this. Even the developed countries suffered much before they rescued situations like this.”

Malami also spoke about the country’s security challenges, saying Buhari intervened in the North East and stopped Boko Haram militants from launching large-scale attacks, which were common during the previous administration.

He said;

“Before Buhari came, there were so many challenges in the security sector, but now, we have succeeded in preventing the attacks. It’s been long that I heard about attack in markets, worship places and so on.”
