Renowned Nigerian politician, Bola Tinubu has indicated that there is a plot by some powerful forces who are doing everything within their power to break Nigeria.

According to him, these forces will not rest until they break Nigeria’s appointment with its greater destiny.

He made this known on April 24 at a convocation ceremony of the Federal University of Agriculture, Makurdi in Benue State.

He claimed that the plotters plan to achieve their aim by attacking agricultural players in the country thus creating food scarcity.

In his submission, he said;

“Terrible people and strong forces want to break Nigeria’s appointment with its greater destiny. These people have unleashed terror and violent criminality against us.

By attacking agricultural players across the nation, they seek not only to ravage the agricultural community but to visit misery on the rest of the nation through food scarcity and food costs that poor people can simply not afford.

In effect, these mean forces seek to impose a food production and distribution crisis on us by disrupting strategically important agricultural areas and activities.”

Days ago, Tinubu sent a message to Muslims around the world as they started their Ramadan fast. He entreated Muslims to focus on Allah and abstain from sin as they observe the month of Ramadan.

According to him, they should try to seek the face of Allah in this sacred time and eschew all forms of evil. He took to his Twitter handle to wish all his Muslim fans a happy Ramadan.

He wrote:

“During this month, adult Muslims are enjoined to abstain from food and drinks and otherworldly things from dawn to sunset.

This spirit of sacrifice, discipline, and perseverance symbolized by denying the body of food and drinks must engender the spirit of humility, mercy, and kindness in us individually and as a true community of faith.

Through this self-control and perseverance, we are moved to beneficial introspection, self-discovery, and self-development.

I urge our Muslim brothers and sisters to be guided by this spirit in their interactions with fellow Muslims, but equally important also in their relations with their neighbours and Nigerians of other faiths as well. We must do so not only for the holy month of Ramadan but every day of our lives.

Nigeria faces many present challenges but none of these challenges can defeat us so long as we remain true to the tenets of our faith by extending the hand of brotherhood and goodness to those around us.

We grow in strength through unity and compassion, not through division and recrimination. Thus, the call and spirit of the holy month are much needed now.

May we all join as brothers in pursuit of peace and harmony for all Muslims and non-Muslims alike.

May Almighty Allah continue to guide us with his munificent hand and open our hearts and minds that we may have the ability to fast, worship, and reap the spiritual benefits of this holy month. Ramadan Mubarak.”
