The Lagos State police command has said it will prosecute singer, BNXN for assaulting a police officer in Ikeja area of the state.

The State PPRO, Ben Hundeyin, stated this on Wednesday following a viral video of the artiste engaging in a public brawl with officers.

CorrectNG reported earlier that BNXN, formerly known as Buju, said he spat on an officer who assaulted him by tearing his clothe and giving him slaps.

In reaction, Hundeyin said the erring police officers will be sanctioned for their unprofessional conduct.

He, however, said that the ‘Confident’ singer would face the consequences of assaulting an officer of the Nigeria Police Force.

The spokesman wrote; ‘‘@BNXN proudly tweeted that he ‘spat in [sic] a police officer’s face and it felt so good.’ He has since deleted the tweet.

The police officers will be sanctioned for their misbehavior if established, while @BNXN will surely answer for his assault on a police officer.”

A video circulating online shows the moment BNXN was having a confrontation with some officers that stopped his car in Ikeja, Lagos state.

BNXN was wearing a white singlet which had allegedly been torn by during the tussle with one a policeman who entered his Benz.

A passer-by recorded the moment the artiste, his friend and the security agents were charging at each other on a busy road.

The ‘Lenu’ crooner, in a now-deleted tweet, revealed that he spat in the officers face after they dragged his clothe, tore it and slapped him.
