Biden Admin Blasts Israel for Going After Terror Front Groups

Published

on

Of the leading terror groups in Israel, the PLO controls the West Bank, Hamas controls Gaza, and the PFLP controls the non-profit groups.

This basic fact has long since been known to counterterrorism researchers. PFLP people pervade the anti-Israel NGOs that are funded by western governments and organizations as local activist and human rights groups. For that matter, the PFLP remains very present in leftist anti-Israel groups in the U.S., Canada, and Europe. (One obvious tell is the use of airline hijacker Leila Khaled posters or t-shirts.)

It’s why Students for Justice in Palestine routinely use PFLP figures and insignia.

In Israel, NGO Monitor performed invaluable work monitoring what it calls the PFLP NGO network. The connections aren’t subtle.

Take for example the Palestinian Centre for Human Rights.

Raji Sourani: General Director

On February 16, 2014, the PFLP held a ceremony honoring Sourani for receiving the award.  During the ceremony, Sourani stated that “I was in the ranks of the Popular Front, and there were comrades who taught us with their own hands. This organization has given us much more. We hope that the direction and the sense of belonging that were planted inside us will remain in our minds. We don’t apologize and don’t regret our past, we are proud that once we were members of this organization and we fought in its ranks”

Jaber Wishah: Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors until 2017.

“In 1985, according to a December 27, 1985 article in the Israeli Maariv, Wishah served as “the head of the military wing of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine in Gaza.” A September 1999 article in Arabic language media similarly states that he was responsible for the PFLP’s military apparatus.”

The media, typically, is ignoring all of this documentation. And the Biden regime is predictably defending the terrorists.

The US State Department criticized the announcement on Friday in the most explicit admonition from the Biden administration since the new Israeli government was formed in June.

“We believe respect for human rights, fundamental freedoms, and a strong civil society are critically important for responsible and responsive governance,” said a State Department spokesperson Ned Price.

He added that the US will “be engaging our Israeli partners for more information regarding the basis for these designations.”

Price also noted that the Israeli government did not give the US advance warning that the organizations would be named.

However, a senior Israeli defense ministry source, speaking on Saturday evening, said that US officials were given prior warning of Israel’s intention of making the announcement regarding the classification of the six Palestinian NGOs as branches of the PFLP and that Washington was provided with intelligence on the matter.

So Ned Price lied. But that’s not a surprise. The only surprise would be if Price for once actually told the truth.
