Two persons were killed by bandits in Sako village, Zangon Kataf LGA, and two corpses were discovered by a security patrol team in the Kurfi-Magamiya general region.

Bandits invaded Saye hamlet under the local government in Zaria, killing one person, bringing the total number of people slain to nine.

Governor Nasir El-Rufai strongly condemned and pleaded for the souls of those killed by armed men to rest in peace. The news of the murders came just a week after bandits assassinated Rilwanu Gadagau, a member of the Kaduna State House of Assembly.

In other news, Sylvester Oromoni, an 11-year-old Dowen college student, had his body autopsied by the Lagos state police command.

Oromoni died on November 30th, purportedly as a result of an attack by senior students at his school. His death sparked outrage and mourning across the country. The Lagos state government has subsequently locked the school grounds, and President Muhammadu Buhari has promised that no one implicated in the event will escape punishment.

The school’s five students and three housemasters are currently in police custody.

The state police command’s spokeswoman, Adekunle Ajisebutu, stated in a statement released on Friday, December 17, that an autopsy was performed on Sylvester’s remains and that the results are pending. The body has been returned to the family for burial, he said.

”Sylvester Oromoni: autopsy done. Result is being awaited. Corpse released to family for burial. Investigation ongoing.” Ajisebutu said
