Armed bandits have killed eight person in separate attacks in Kajuru and Kachia Local Government areas of Kaduna State.

Confirming the news on Tuesday, April 6, the State Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan said armed bandits placed barricades on the Kaduna-Kachia road around Kadanye village in Kajuru LGA, and started shooting at a bus and a truck carrying firewood.

In the early hours of Tuesday, five people perished in the attack. We have their identities to be Alfred Makinde (the driver of the bus) Abdulrahman Dela, Dauda Adamu, Umar Dauda and Abdulrasheed Musa.

Others sustained severe injuries and were rushed to the hospital for medical attention. They are: Murtala Ibrahim, Ali Manager and Abdullahi (full name unknown).

At the Doka Axis of Kajuru Local Government Area, bandits again barricaded the Kaduna-Kachia road and gunned down the driver of the driver.

Sadly, one Ibrahim Alhaji Haruna was killed by armed bandits after they stormed the herders settlement in Inlowo village before taking away 180 cows.

Two persons, Mansur Ibahim and Muhammadu Aminu sustained gunshot wounds at Akilbu village in Kachia LGA. Regrettably, Mansur Ibrahim couldn’t survive from his injuries, however Muhammadu continues to battle for his life at hospital.

According to the Commissioner, the Governor of Kaduna expressed sadness over the unfortunate incident and sent condolences to the families of the deceased. To the injured ones, he wished them speedy recovery.

He added that the operations have been launched into specific locations in the general area and the government will intimate the details of their operational feedback soon.
