Bandits invade Abuja estate, allegedly kidnap residents

Suspected bandits have reportedly attacked a highbrow estate in the Federal Capital Territory.

The assailants were reported to have invaded Genuine Estate in Gwarinpa, in the early hours of Monday, armed with bows, arrows and machetes.

According to reports, an unconfirmed number of residents were kidnapped during the attack.

The FCT Police Command, Josephine Adeh, confirmed the incident but said that the case was a robbery not abduction.

She added that police had already been mobilised to the scene of the crime.

This comes barely 24 hours after an attack on a Catholic Church in Owo, Ondo State which left scores dead.
