‘Anytime People Blame Dr. Bawumia For Our Economic Woes, I Get Sad’ – Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh
The Minister of Energy, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh has suggested that the vice president, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is not responsible for Ghana’s economic woes even though he is the head of the economic management team.
According to him, anytime the vice president is being blamed, he gets really sad and he made this known in a recent submission on Peace FM’s ‘Kokrokoo’ morning show hosted by Kwame Sefa Kayi.
In his view, the vice president cannot be held responsible for what happens when it comes to matters of the economy adding that the Economic Management Team is the only branch.
In his submission, he said;
“I get sad when people blame Vice President Bawumia because it is the only Committee that’s called a team. At the Cabinet level, we have Social and Infrastructure Committee and others but when we talk about the economy, we term it as Economic Management Team. So, we appointed experts on the team.”
